The Fallen

I'm writing a new book!

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't been busy, I just either forgot about this blog a moment, or I was doing something else.

I know I've mentioned the Fallen a bit, but it has become my main focus now. The Fallen is a story about a girl named Sophie who discovers that she is something called a Fallen. In this book a Fallen is a half-human, half-angel who possess great power. A demon named Elliot however is after her, his mission being to kill her.

The whole plot hasn't been completely developed but I'll let you know more.

Bye!

Writers Club

So, I went to the Writers Club today at my local library.
I have to say, it was really fun.
At first, I sat there, trying not to act stupid, but I eventually settled down a bit.
I was going to read Inner Secrets, but due to not enough time, I read the first page of The Fallen instead.
All the compliments I got, really did boost my ego.

They told me they thought my main character, Sophie, seemed like a thoughtful character. I opened up my first page with the statement: I don't really remember my mother: and they told me it was a great hook. By the end, I was practically beaming. The whole event honestly made my day.

That's about all in that department, except my teacher, did look at my Synopsis, and he said it was really good. I just need to work a bit more on it, and sort out the glitches. If you guys have any advice, please do not hesitate to tell me. Or, if you want to ask something, go ahead and ask. I adore every comment I get, and I'm up to two followers! (Not including myself, that was purely an accident)

Thanks, and I'll post really soon!

I Finished My Synopsis!

Yes! The day has finally arrived! I finished the Synopsis.
*Applaud, Applaud*

Actually this is a fairly long story. I started it over, I kid you not, three times. My first seemed too long, and detailed, so I deleted it. The second droned on, and on, so it was boring. Finally, I went and asked my Lang. Arts. Teacher, and he told me a bit of advice, and for once, it made sense! One day, I will probably be better at Synopsis, without any help.

So, yes, it is complete. And I'm going to post it here, so you guys can see it :)

So, here we go:

Synopsis: Inner Secrets

Lucy has always known she was different. It was just how different she was that came as a surprise. When she touches the doorknob of the old house down the street and gets a moonmark on her wrist, it sets off a chain of events that Lucy herself, never thought possible. Suddenly she is thrust into a new world called The Inner, and finds out that all she has ever known is a lie. She learns she is part of a prophecy to destroy the Evil King that rules the Inner with darkness. All she has to do is find the other Essences, the Sun, the Star, and the Earth. However the task itself is not easy. With blood-thirsty monsters called Controllers at every twist and turn, danger is always a threat. Rumors of the Sun being in the Dark Relic, the place where the king lives, sends Lucy, her protectors, and her sister, on their first journey. With Secrets looming over her every step of the way, will Lucy be able to save the Sun, or will she break down under the pressure.

Well, that's it and hopefully it will impress the agents. Thanks for reading, and I'll post real soon!

Thanks! Bye!

Self-Publishing

Well, today while at my sisters soccer game, I met up with children's author.
He has recently published a book called Bob's Boogers
Being me, I had a ton of questions to ask him.
He himself, did Self-Publishing which to be honest, I have never thought of.

It never really occurred to me that I should try it, but now, I think I might.
There isn't much news other than the fact that I'm still working on my Synopsis.
I'm not very good at writing them.
I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year!

One of my biggest resolutions this year was to keep writing, and get Inner Secrets published!

That's all for now, but I'll post if there's a new update!

New Ideas

So, I haven't posted in a while, and so I'm just going to say
Merry Christmas!! I hope you all had good holidays. So, last night I was laying around when an idea for a new story came into my head. I quickly wrote it down, and even wrote down a random scene. I could hardly sleep last night because I kept thinking. Ooh! Here's an idea.

Today, I decided to juggle it around a bit. I already have the first three pages. I'm sitting at my kitchen table drinking hot chocolate (Yum!) And writing. I'm not going to give to much detail about it, mostly because I'm not sure if it will work. But I can say its just a one book thing, no sequels, and its not a series. It's also a romance  adventure, and a little fantasy type.

Well, bye! And if I don't post again before new years! Happy new years!

WOOHOO!

Hey, It's Miranda!

I got a letter from an agent today, that wasn't a rejection. They requested I send in a detailed Synopsis, and the first 50 pages of the manuscript.

I don't think I've truthfully ever been happier in my life. Of course it isn't a definite yes, and I'm not expecting one, however it is definitely a step up from a rejection. I'm in school right now, but if I wasn't. I think I would be dancing around, and screaming. (Professionally of course :))

Woohoo! I'm so happy. I'll keep posting!

Bye!

More Query letters!

Hello, its Miranda! :)

It's after Thanksgiving break and I am back at school. Yay.

It's not to bad, I was mostly reading and watching T.V during break anyway, so at least now I actually have something to do. Even of that something is homework. I have sent my query letter out to many agents now, and I'm waiting for reply.

I must admit though, I'm very anxious. Every time I get an email, I wonder if it is a response, but it's usually an ad. The first time that happened, I was sort of annoyed, but I'm excited and happy too!

For now, I'm just editing the book and trying to improve it anyway I can. That's about all, but I'll update if anything happens!

Bye,

First rejection letter

You heard right. I got my first rejection letter today.

I think I'm supposed to feel sad, but surprisingly I'm not. I think because I got the rejection, this all feels real now. Besides, this is probably the first of many rejection letters. So, now I'm off to find more agents. Does anyone know any good sights to find Agents or Publishers?

I kind of need more sites. I'm going to send out some more email letters. Well, that's pretty much all news I have. So, thanks for reading! Bye!

Horror story of writers block

Argh! Hello people who may or may not be reading this,

I am on the verge on of my mind becoming blank. I have finished the first book as I have told you and now I'm starting the second book of my planned four book series. It's quite frustrating.

However on a lighter note, I just wrote a query letter! Yes, that's right a query letter. In other words a letter that I can send to publishers and agents, they will read it and reject me or maybe ask me for a couple chapters or a manuscript in interested. It's s big moment for me.

Sorry I have been so busy, I haven't been able to write much. With school it's a lot to have packed on your shoulders. I have a debate coming up soon....yippee. But enough of that, I'm really excited about this and my friends have been supporting me through it all.

I really hope this works out. So, I'm prepared to endure rejections but I wont give up!

Thanks, :)

Readers

Helllo its Miranda,

I haven't posted in a while. Mostly because nothing has really happened yet.
I have a few of my classmates reading my book and plot wise they are giving me positive feedback which is making me really happy.
I'm actually going to try and spread the word about the blog around. Maybe so I can get noticed or something.

I've decided that after Christmas I'm going to start sending Query letters to some publishers and agents. So, I'm going to need to write a good one. I'll probably have some people help me write one.

It's always annoying though with all the homework I have no time to actually get to looking into publishers and in all just writing. Not that, that's bad. I know homework comes first but it does get stressful after a while.

Well, I guess I'll go now. If anyone is reading this, do you want a little section of my book? Maybe just a couple paragraphs, or a sneak peak. I'll probably end up posting one anyway.

See you guys later!

My ideal picture of my charatcer

One more thing I'm adding for today. Above is what I picture my character to look like. (in the most non realistic way) I think this is in a more anime form or cartoon or whatever you might call it. But I saw it and just thought, this is her, this is my character. If your curious my main characters name is Lucine or Lucy.

Finally done editing! :)

Helllo guys,

It's Miranda, again. Though I'm not actually sure many people read this. I'm here to inform those of you that do that I am done editing! Yes! Well, for the most part.

I'm sure I'll have a lot more to go. Now my parents are reading it and I'm looking for an agent and maybe a couple publishing companies to send it too.

We'll see how it goes from there.

My book is hopefully going to be published and then finally I'll be an official writer. I have high hopes and I'll do whatever I can do to reach them.

If you have any advice, publishing stories of your own or you just want to comment. I would love it if you did! This was very short and I'm sorry about that, but thanks for those of you who have read it. Bye!

Editing majorly

Hello again, its Miranda :)

Since my book is done (like I've said before) I've started some major editing, fixing, plot changes, and etc.
and it is a lot harder than I thought, I must say.

Of course, I'm not giving up on this not yet, but so far my self edit is going smoothly but I've come to ask for more advice and maybe questions.

How would you go about editing something you've done? Whether it be a piece of literature or an essay for school, what do you do for it and do any of you know any good agents or publishing companies I should look into. I do think I've had a couple page views. No comments so far but that's okay. I like knowing that people are at least looking.

So, that's about it. I've just come to update on the fact that I'm doing some editing and I'm looking into some agents or publishers

Thanks for reading! :) Hope you have had a great day too!

Bye!

First blog of many to come.

Hello, the people who may be reading this.
I'm Miranda. To be quite honest I'm making this for multiple purposes
One, I'm a writer or I'm going to be, so I'm recording what I'm doing from here.
Second, my favourite author Aprilynne Pike did one for herself and because I love her writing so much, I decided to test it out.

So I guess I'll just start with random things about me.
I live with my Mom, Dad and three little sisters, (yeah I'm pretty young still.)
My favourite authors are Veronica Roth, Aprilynne Pike, Margeret Pettersom Haddix, Ally Condie, Meg Cabot and etc.

I'm not really sure what else to say, except for the fact that I've recently finished a novel (pretty short 293 pages, 110,000 words) but I have much editing to do. However I have started to research publishing, so if you guys know anything about that feel free to post or talk to me.

Or maybe think of a better blog name?? I was clueless for a good one. :)

Thanks again.
And I'll post more later. :)
